Understand what this website handles.

Independent guideTeamjieletric is an independent educational publisher. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of TIAA. We do not verify messages, investigate incidents, recover accounts or provide technical support.

Reading the guides

You can read this site without registering or submitting personal information. The site code includes no third-party analytics, advertising pixels, embedded social widgets or remote font requests. Images, styles and scripts are served from the same site.

The red-flag checklist processes selections in the current browser page. It sends no selections to our server and does not save them between page loads. The checklist is not a message-scanning or authentication service.

Browser storage

If you acknowledge the privacy notice, the site stores one localStorage preference named teamjieletric.privacy-notice.v1 with the value seen. This is used only to keep the notice from appearing on every page.

The preference has no programmed expiry and remains until browser storage is cleared or the site changes that preference key. The site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. See Cookie Policy for instructions on removing the preference.

Editorial contact information

The editorial form asks for your name, email, page or topic, and a general question or correction. The server validates these fields and attempts to email the note to [email protected]. The form handler does not save a copy of the message body to a website database or local content file.

The receiving mailbox and mail providers may retain the note, and the hosting provider may keep delivery and security logs under its settings. We use an editorial note to consider the published issue and, where appropriate, reply. We do not use it for advertising or list subscriptions. We do not promise a retention period that has not been configured for those services.

Hosting and abuse prevention

A browser request reveals ordinary connection details such as an IP address to the host. Hosting access and error logs depend on the hosting provider and configuration. This website cannot promise those records are absent.

To limit repeated form submissions, the form handler keeps timestamps under a hash of the requester’s IP address and the endpoint file path in the host’s temporary directory. The hash is pseudonymous, not anonymous. The rate window is 15 minutes. Entries older than 24 hours are eligible for cleanup on subsequent valid requests; host temporary-file policies may also apply. Message bodies are not included in that file.

What not to send

Do not submit passwords, security codes, account numbers, suspicious links, messages, screenshots, incident details or other personal information. The form has no upload field and is not an incident-reporting tool.

Use only the basic name and email fields needed for an editorial reply. The message box is for general published-content questions. Technical filters cannot guarantee that someone will never type sensitive information, so do not enter it.

External sources and privacy questions

Source Reference links lead to independent external websites. Opening one makes a request to that site, which has its own privacy practices. We include no affiliate or referral tracking in those links.

For a question about this site’s information handling or a request concerning an editorial note, email [email protected]. Do not include credentials or personal incident details. This policy describes the supplied site code; any analytics, services or retention settings added by the operator require a corresponding update.
